Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. She founded The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001, and shortly thereafter exited the company. Corcoran is one of ABC’s original Shark Tank investors. To date, she has been in each seasons of Shark Tank. In February 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, with the largest being a $350,000 deal that covered 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children from a working-class Irish Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a skilled worker throughout the years of Corcoran's childhood. Her family sometimes depended on food delivery for free from a friendly local grocery store. Corcoran remembers her father as one who sometimes drank too much and did her mother a disservice and condescension, particularly when he was drinking. Corcoran struggled through her schooling, later learning that she had dyslexia. Corcoran was educated in an Catholic elementary school and then enrolled in high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. After flunking several courses during her freshman year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and received a grade of D.
